Kdenlive is a free, cross-platform and open source video editing software. It offers great video editing functions like cutting, splitting, transitions, video effects, copy paste, etc. Also it supports a lots of file formats It supports a wide variety of file formats and a range of camcorders and cameras. It contains a plethora of features such as importing from online resources, automatic audio alignment, supports a wide range of codecs and also multitrack edition. This tutorial explains the installation of Kdenlive 16.12.3 on Ubuntu 17.04.
To proceed with the installation procedure, update the machine by executing the following apt-get update command.

The target machine has been updated with the required repositories. Next install the kdenlive application by running the following command and press y to continue with the installation procedure.

The application is installed in the system. After finishing the installation procedure, go to Ubuntu dashboard and type kdenlive. Click on the icon to run the application.
The kdenlive application is open and running in the system successfully.
