To install MuseScore on Ubuntu 17.04
MuseScore is an open-source music composition and notation software for Linux distributions. The users can create, edit and print music in a comfortable environment. It is a WYSISYG environment in which musical scores can be created. Some of its features include plyaback of trills and other instruments, new templates for classical, easier search in Symbols palette, and default FluidR3 soundfont. This tutorial explains the installation procedure of MuseScore on Ubuntu 17.04.
Installation procedure
To proceed with the installation procedure, run the following command to add the required repositories for MuseScore.
root@linuxhelp:~# add-apt-repository ppa:mscore-ubuntu/mscore-stable

INSTALLING: (run these commands from the terminal)
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:mscore-ubuntu/mscore-stable
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install musescore

Update the repository in the target machine by executing the apt-get update command.

Next install the MuseScore by executing the following command and press y to continue the installation.

The application is installed in the target system. Now go to Ubuntu dashboard and type MuseScore in the search bar. Click on the icon to run the application.
The MuseScore application is running successfully.
