Pithos1.4.0, a new version of the open-source Pandora Radio client for Linux desktops, is now available for download. Pithos 1.4.0 comes with a number of new plugins that has an extended set of features which includes a 10 band equalizer, screensaver/lock screen inhibitor, and a volume normalizer. The application also has an option through F1 keyboard shortcut to open the online Pithos wiki. Apart from this, there are several other features available on Pithos 1.4.0 and some of them are listed as follows.
Features
- Pithos requires an active Pandora Radio account.
- An official web player is available to all users on Windows, macOS and Linux, as well as mobile apps for Android and iOS. An official Pandora desktop app is available on macOS and Windows for Pandora One customers.
- Pithos is an unofficial, third-party app favored by Pandora subscribers on Linux as it offers a more integrated experience than the official web player, including MPRIS support, keyboard media keys, and desktop notifications.
Installing Pithos
First, make sure you add the necessary repository by making use of the following command.
