Top command displays the all the characters running on the current system.
Top command displays the processor activity and also the task managed by the kernel. It displays the information like memory, cpu, tasks and swap.
This command is also used with other options to sort process with PID, to display specific PID, highlight running process in top, to view the absolute path of a process, to set the screen refresh interval, to kill a process, to sort by CPU utilization, to alter the priority of a process.
