To install Enlightenment on Ubuntu 17.04

Enlightenment is an open-source, lightweight desktop environment for Linux. It is supports high customization with animations, effects and dedicated applications. Although it posses a basic design, it is tweaked and integrated differently depending on which supporting Linux distribution you use. Installing Enlightenment on the latest version of Ubuntu is very simple and this tutorial ensures that.

Installing Enlightenment

One of the crucial things to do before proceeding with any installation process in a Linux system is the addition of the repository, and this process also involves it. So, make sure you add them in your machine by executing the following command.

root@linuxhelp:~# add-apt-repository ppa:niko2040/e19
 Stable version of Enlightenment E21 and EFL.
For Debian Unstable you can use https://repo.4e.by
 More info: https://launchpad.net/~niko2040/+archive/ubuntu/e19
Press [ENTER] to continue or ctrl-c to cancel adding it

Now you need to close all the open programs and log out of your account.

Here you need to select the environment. Choose it and proceed.

Login by entering your password.

You should do some basic configuration. Choose your language of choice and click on Next.

After that, you should choose the profile. Since here it is a computer in which the testing is taking place, Computer is chosen. Click on the Next button.

Also, you ought to configure the mouse modifiers. Click on the Next button after that.

Enable the Taskbar and click on the Next button. With this, the configuration gets over. Wait for the environment to take effect.
