Recordmydesktop is an open source and simple screen recorder application used for Linux and other Unix based operating systems. The RecordMyDesktop application can record either the whole screen or a predefined area within it. RecordMyDesktop can capture both &ndash audio and video of a desktop screen.

Installing RecordMyDesktop

Before you begin the installation process, you need to update the repository by making use of the following command.

Once it is done, you shall proceed with the installation of RecordMyDesktop by executing the following command.

After the installation, go to ubuntu dashboard and type record, the application icon gets displayed on your screen. Just click the icon to open the application.
