To Install Basic Painting Tools in Ubuntu 16.04
Painting tools are generally used to create and edit the drawings and images. Some of the basic painting tools are KolourPaint, Gpaint, Xpaint, Tux Paint. Installation of basic painting tool in Ubuntu 16.04 machine is explained in this article.
Installation of Basic Painting Tools
KolourPaint
KolourPaint is an open source application, which allow the user to draw and edit images with simple tools. It supports several image formats. This application is used for simple paintings and sketches.
Run the below command to install KolourPaint.
root@linuxhelp:/home/user1# apt-get install kolourpaint4

To open the KolourPaint, run the following command.

Gpaint
Gpaint is a simple and easy to use painting program for GNOME and GNU desktop. The user can work on this application with standard functions and few editing tools. It is built with GTK.
Run the below command to install Gpaint.
root@linuxhelp:/home/user1# apt-get install gpaint

XPaint is a fast image editing application designed for the office environment. It includes the C script editor, toolbox, font selector, color and pattern editor, brush selector, and also a magnifier.
Run the below command to install XPaint.
root@linuxhelp:/home/user1# apt-get install xpaint

Tux Paint is a very basic application, especially designed for kids. It provides various sounds when users click on tools.
Run the below command to install Tux Paint.
root@linuxhelp:/home/user1# apt-get install tuxpaint
