How to install Qbit-torrent on Debian 8.3

The Qbit-torrent is a fork of bittorrent client application which is the alternative of utorrent. It is a cross-platform client for the Bittorrent protocol. It is written in C++ using Boost and uses Qt framework and libtorrrent-rasterbar library for back-end. This tutorial explains the installation procedure of Qbit-torrent on Debian 8.3.

Installation procedure

To start the installation procedure, first add the repo using the nano command.

root@linuxhelp:~# nano /etc/apt/sources.list

The source.list file opens, add these two lines in the file. Save and exit from the file.

deb http://ftp.debian.org/debian/ stable main contrib non-free
deb http://ftp.de.debian.org/debian jessie main

Next update the apt-get source using the following command.

Once the package is installed, click on the activities window and type the Qbit-torrent package name. Run the application by clicking on the icon.
