Arpwatch tool is an open source software which is developed by Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory under the BSD License. Arpwatch tool creates a log and stores all the specifications of ethernet activities. It also contains an interface to send a mail to the network administrator if any changes occur on the system. Any network administrator can monitor ARP activities like, network flip-flops, ARP spoofing, IP and MAC address modifications.
