Microsoft’s Cortana revamped with a fresh look for iOS

Microsoft gave its Cortana app a fresh look and enhanced its speed in order to simplify its functioning on iOS. The old black and blue look of Cortana is now a history, and its key features are at users’ fingertips.

The new facelift includes Quick Actions, a utility that lets the users to tap a couple of buttons to get Cortana create an alarm, set a reminder, or tell them a joke. It reduces plight involved with obtaining certain key features without the need for them to talk or type queries, and it also gives them a framework for what they can do with the app, without them having to discover it on their own.

With so many assistant tools such as Cortana, Siri, Alexa and the Google Assistant in the fray, there is a huge rise in the virtual assistant market. Cortana is built deeply into PCs with Windows 10, but the company should keep their aps for other mobile platforms up to date so the users are met where they are.

Cortana Skills are governed by developer terms of use (TOU) that prohibits inappropriate content. This is similar to the terms that govern applications on Microsoft Store. In addition to a certification process, any skills that are reported to violate the TOU (for content or otherwise) will be audited and removed from the platform.
