If you have installed correct, then there may be problem with command. Because it can have various command to start nrpe Plugin. In redhat, service start command is used. Thats ok, but I thnk you have installed from Oracle linux it seems, so try the below command.
# start nrpe

nrpe Unrecognized service
I have configured nagios service in my CentOS machine. Since redhat based i used service nrpe start commad to start. But the Unrecognized service error appears. I have installed in a perfect way. where is my problem???
