Wine and Ubuntu Mate repacked gaming installation...

I just started on Ubuntu Mate and before I had started, I was running on Windows 7. I was using the Fitgirl repacks for The Sims 4 and in her troubleshooting, it says that you can use Wine. I had already downloaded it but since ive tried to download it, I constantly get the " Cant open I/o event." Whats going on and how do I fix it? Im quite confused.

Here is the link for fit girl:

Please help. Thanks

Linux is not advisable to play all games, yes we can run some games on Linux through Wine software, however we can't install and play 100 % all games on Linux it might cause some problems and is a big headache while installing a game on Linux in my opinion, you better switch back to windows if you plan for playing games on your machine. Or in some case if you wanna use Ubuntu for any kind of work and also wanna play games means you can go for dual boot (windows 7 & Ubuntu) option.

Haha - you're complaining on one hand about not being able to get a pirated version of The Sims 4 working, yet on the other hand you're saying how buying a new Windows license is expensive! LOL!

@hevensia did you get it to work?

Thanks for that advice but unfortunately, the laptop I had didnt have a valid product code so resetting windows was impossible. And quite frankly, buying another product code is as expensive as buying another laptop. I figured it out. Thanks for no help.
