How to install Elastix Server
Elastix is an Open source Software for your server for PBX Unified communications solution. It is the best tools available for Asterisk-based PBXs into a single web based user interface for configuration and management. It also includes capabilities like call center software with predicitive dialling. In this tutorial, we are going to cover the installation procedure of Elastix server.
Download the ISO image file of elastix software from its official web site, then we can download the elastix into a bootable media to boot into Elastix setup to the target system as shown below in your boot screen.
To start the installation procedure. Choose “ Install Elastix” option.
In the installation summary page. Click “ DATE & TIME” to set your TimeZone
Select the TimeZone and click " Done" .
After selecting the TimeZone, choose “ software Selection”
And Select “ Elastix Install”
The next step is to create system partition requires before installing elastix. We need to create 3 partitions.
1. The System or Boot partition requires minimum 500M which should be mounted on /boot mount point.
2. The Swap partition which should double your RAM size, will be mounted on swap.
3. The Root partition which can set size according to your needs and should be mounted on /.
We can also not select the " Automatic partitioning" option. You can choose the “ I will configure” to configure the partitions manually.
Next choose the “ standard Partition” and then click “ +” symbol to create those required partitions.
After creating all the partitions click “ Done”
To confirm changes made, click “ Accept Changes”
Next we need to configure Network and hostname we can either configure the network now or can also be done after the installation is completed.
Enter the IP address and the DNS server to the IPv4 settings and click " save" .
After completing all the changes, click “ Begin Installation”
While installing, we can set the Root password.
After creating the Root password, select the " user creation" .
Once the installation is completed your system will be automatically rebooted. When you try to login to your system for the first time it will require you to set password for MySQL database and PBX admin.
Enter the " freePBX admin" password to continue using the Elastix server.
