To install Font Manager on Ubuntu 16.04

Font Manager is an open-source application for managing fonts via a simple and intuitive interface. It allows the users to easily install new fonts or remove some of the installed fonts. It also supports the option to export the collections and easily activate or deactivate a group of fonts. This tutorial explains the installation of Font Manager on Ubuntu 16.04.


Installation procedure

To proceed with the installation procedure, add the following required repositories by executing the following command.

root@ubuntu:~# add-apt-repository ppa:font-manager/staging
 This PPA contains packages built from the latest revision.

 More info: https://launchpad.net/~font-manager/+archive/ubuntu/staging

The repositories are added successfully in the system. Next update the repository by running the apt-get update command.

The system has been updated with the repositories. Now install Font Manager application by executing the following apt-get install command as follows.

root@ubuntu:~# apt-get install font-manager

  gnome-software-common libgtkspell3-3-0 libmcrypt4
Use ' sudo apt autoremove'  to remove them.

The application has been installed successfully. To run the application, type the name font manager in the Ubuntu dashboard and click on the icon.
