To Install Kazam in Ubuntu

Kazam is a simple screen recording and screenshot tool used for Linux distributions. It allows the users to capture the content of the screen and record a video file, which can be played by any video player. It supports VP8/WebM video format. The mentioned tool is used to select the area to be recorded or complete screen. Installation of Kazam in Ubuntu is explained in this article.

Installation of Kazam

First add the Kazam repo into the repository.

root@linuxhelp:/home/user1# add-apt-repository ppa:kazam-team/stable-series
 Builds for stable series. Maintenance and bugfixes in the current stable series.
 More info: https://launchpad.net/~kazam-team/+archive/ubuntu/stable-series

Utilize the following command to update the added repo file.

root@linuxhelp:/home/user1# apt-get update

Now its time to install the Kazam package.

root@linuxhelp:/home/user1# apt-get install kazam

Once the Kazam package is installed successfully, launch it as shown below,

root@linuxhelp:/home/user1# kazam
