Ntopng is the latest version of the original ntop. It is a network traffic scrutiny that controls network usage which is based on libpcap. It is used for High-Speed Web-based Traffic Analysis and Flow Collection.
Installation process:
Run lsb_release command to check the installed version of OS as follows.
root@linuxhelp:~# lsb_release -a

Distributor ID: Ubuntu
Description: Ubuntu 20.04.1 LTS
Release: 20.04
Codename: focal
Use this command to update the repository files.
root@linuxhelp:~# apt-get update

Hit:3 http://in.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu focal-backports InRelease

To install the ntopng use the following command.
root@linuxhelp:~# apt-get install ntopng

Open the default configuration file and add a connection name.
root@linuxhelp:~# vim /etc/ntopng.conf
Restart the ntopng service.
root@linuxhelp:~# systemctl restart ntopng
Change the default admin password.
