To install OpenToonz on Ubuntu 17.04

OpenToonz Animation Maker is a free 2D animation software that enables you to create 2D animations for movies. It uses the plug-in effect SDK, the effects automatically change the picture styles by applying deep learning technology and convertes the producing affected environment. This tutorial explains the installation procedure of OpenToonz on Ubuntu 17.04. 


Installation procedure

To proceed with the installation procedure, add the dependent repository for OpenToonz to the basic repository path of Ubuntu by running the following set of commands. 

root@linuxhelp:~# sudo sh -c 'echo "deb $(lsb_release -sc)-getdeb apps" >> /etc/apt/sources.list.d/getdeb.list'
root@linuxhelp:~# wget -q -O- | sudo apt-key add -

The repositories are added in the target system. Update your system by executing the apt-get update command

root@linuxhelp:~# apt-get update

The target system has been updated with the latest repositories. Install the OpenToonz application by running the following command. 

root@linuxhelp:~# apt-get install opentoonz

The following additional packages will be installed:
  freeglut3 libblas-common libblas3 libglew2.0 libqt5script5 libsdl2-2.0-0
  libsuperlu5 opentoonz-data

The OpenToonz application has been installed successfully in the system. To run the application, type the application name in the Ubuntu dashboard and click on the icon to run it.

The OpenToonz application is running without any glitches. 

The installation of OpenToonz on Ubuntu 17.04 is done successfully.
