To install Pithos on Debian 8.3

Pithos is an open-source and native Pandora radio client for Linux. It is designed to be light weight when compared to Pandora.com web client and it integrates with desktop features such as media keys, notifications, the sound menu, etc. Pithos has hit its latest version 1.3.0 with some major bug fixes and additional features. You can easily install Pithos and this tutorial will guide you through the installation procedure involved with Pithos on Debian 8.3

Installing Pithos

Before you kick-start the installation of Pithos, you need to add its repository on your machine. Use the following command to open the sources.list file to which you need to add the repo.

root@linuxhelp:~# nano /etc/apt/sources.list

Once it is opened, add the following lines at the end of the file.

deb http://ftp.debian.org/debian/ stable main contrib non-free
deb http://ftp.de.debian.org/debian jessie main


After that, you need to update the apt source. Use the following command for the same purpose.

root@linuxhelp:~# apt-get update
