How to install qpdfview on Debian 8.3

The qpdfview is a tabbed document viewer. It uses poppler for PDF support, libspectre for PS support, CUPS for printing support and Qt toolkit for its interface. It includes features like scaling, rotating and fitting the document, configurable tool bard, SyncTeX support. This tutorial covers the installation process of qpdfview on Debian 8.3.

Installation procedure

To start the installation procedure, use the nano command to open the sources.list configuration file.

root@linuxhelp:~# nano /etc/apt/sources.list

The sources.list configuration file is opened. Now add these lines at end of the file. Save and exit from the file.

deb http://ftp.debian.org/debian/ stable main contrib non-free
deb http://ftp.de.debian.org/debian jessie main

Execute the following apt-get update command to update the apt sources-list in the target system.

root@linuxhelp:~# apt-get update

The target system is updated with the required repositories. Now install the Qpdfview package by executing the following command.

Once the package is installed click the activities window and type the qpdfview package name in the search bar. Click on the icon to run the application. qpdfview
