Simplenote is a light, clean, and open source alternative application to evernote. Although initially built for iOS, this notetaking application is now available also for Android, Mac, Windows, Linux, and the web. In this article, you'll learn the method to install Simplenote on Ubuntu.
In order to install Simplenote, you need to add the debian installer - gdebi in your system. Run the following command for the same purpose.

Once it is done, download the package for simplenote with the help of wget command.

Now is the time to install simplenote, run the following command to trigger the installation.
root@linuxhelp:~# gdebi simplenote-1.0.8.deb Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree Reading state information... Done Reading state information... Done . . Processing triggers for bamfdaemon (0.5.3~bzr0+16.04.20160415-0ubuntu1) ... Rebuilding /usr/share/applications/bamf-2.index... Processing triggers for mime-support (3.59ubuntu1) ...
After the installation, go to ubuntu dashboard search-bar and type simplenote, it will display the application’s icon. Click on the icon to open it.
The login page appears on your screen, fill the details and click the login button.
The home page of the application appears now.
With this, the installation of Simpleton on Ubuntu is now complete.
