A barcode is an optical, machine-readable, representation of data in the form of numbers and parallel lines of varying widths or a geometric pattern.The data usually describes something about the object that carries the barcode. Linear or one-dimensional (1D) barcodes represents data by varying the widths and spacings of parallel lines; two-dimensional (2D) codes represents data using geometric patterns in two dimensions.
