gImageReader

gImageReader is an open source tool used for OCR scanning on Linux systems. gImageReader allows the users to scan various file formats including JPEG, PNG, TIFF, GIFF or PDF files. The users can also scan the files, which is directly imported from the scanner and recognize the characters. OCR stands for Optical Character Recognition, which is used to extract text from PDF and image files. It supports the color management workflow and enables the users to apply ICC color profiles.
