OCR

OCR is one of the technologies used to convert image text into text files. OCR stands for Optical Character Recognition. The mentioned technology allows the user for converting scanned images of text back into plain text. It can scan the contents of a document into a single file of editable text. Its main advantage is to save space and to edit the text. This involves photoscanning of the text character-by-character, analysis of the scanned-in image, and then translation of the character image into character codes, such as ASCII, commonly used in data processing.
