Window manager

A window manager is software that controls the window placement and appearance of a desktop within a windowing system in a Graphical User Interface. There are many elements that associate with window manager are to open, close, minimize, maximize, move, resize and keep track of the running windows and also various utilities needed to create a interactive window for the user. For UNIX like OS, there is X window system specifically designed for bitmap displays. It is architecture independent for remote graphical user interface.
