XFCE

XFCE is a free and open source desktop environment for UNIX and Linux. XFCE is a fast, lightweight, visually appealing, and easy to use desktop environment for UNIX-like operating systems.  It consists of separately packaged parts that together provide all functions of the desktop environment, but can be selected in subsets to suit user needs and preference.  It displays an overview of open applications and enables the users to switch between applications, work-space selector, application launcher and a search tool. It allows the users to create shortcuts easily.
