Network Management Protocol

Network Management Protocol is an UDP based network protocol that facilitates the exchange of management information between the NMS and managed devices. It allows the users to gather bandwidth and network usage data. Its main purpose is to monitor the bandwidth usage of routers and switches port by port, which is commonly used by SNMP. The network management contains some set of standards including application layer protocol, a database schema and a set of data objects.
