dig

Dig, expanded as Domain Information Groper, is a powerful Linux tool which can perform Name server queries directly and bypasses all cached DNS servers and DNS entries. When dig command is executed it looks for the given host or domain in the DNS records. Dig command can be used to look for things network address, mail exchanger, name servers, host information, arbitrary strings and zone of authority records.
