DOCSIS

DOCSIS is a piece of program that used to generate binary configuration files for cable modems. DOCSIS stands for Data over Cable Service Interface Specification, which converts the text configuration files into a binary DOCSIS format. It is designed with a cable modem (CM) and the CMTS. Both the CM and CMTS communicate over HFC cables. It provides bi-directional flow of IP data in between the cable modem and CMTS.
