Netfilter
Netfilter allows the network based operations to be implemented as customized handlers. It offers various translations of network address and port to direct the packet through a network. It also provides ability to block the packets from reaching the sensitive locations. The netfilter main objective is to allow the packet filtering and packet mangling.
