Background process

A background process is a process that is started from a terminal but is barred from interacting with the terminal. A multi-tasking operating system such as Linux is capable of running background process such as daemons which doesn’t require any user input. Other background processes are merely in the background as the user would be utilizing the programs that run on the foreground.
