UDP deploys a connection-less transmission model and its protocol mechanism is minimal. It exposes any unreliable network protocol to the user’s program. UDP deploys checksums for protection against transmission errors. Through UDP, a user can send messages (datagram) to another host on an IP network without the need to set up a data path.
