Amazon EBS

Amazon EBS is an Elastic Block Store, which is used to store persistent data. Amazon EBS is designed for high availability and reliability. It allows the users to run the workloads through its consistent and low latency performance. The data from Amazon EBS volume is replicated over the multiple servers to prevent the loss of data from the failed component. In addition, it allows the users to encrypt the data on the EBS volume. The main advantage is that only the authority user can access the key pair and read the encrypted data. Once the user encrypts the EBS volume and attached it to an instance, then the snapshots created from that volume will be encrypted automatically.
