DDoS

DDoS is a type of cyber-attack. Distributed Denial of Server (DDoS) attack is deployed to make a computer or any kind of network resource unavailable to its targeted users. DDoS attack can be targeted at a single machine or even to a large enterprise. The victim of this attack is flooded with lots of incoming messages from multiple points or computers, thus target gets overwhelmed with lots of information and gets shut down. DDoS attack can exhaust the victim’s resources such as bandwidth, computing power and operating system. The incoming messages can vary from small packets to over-sized payloads. Sometimes the consequences of DDoS attack lead to replacement of hardware devices.
