FTPS

FTPS, also known as FTP Secure, is an extension of FTP protocol. It is a combination of FTP and SSL for security purpose. FTPS is a term which refers to the number of ways FTP is capable of performing secure file transfer. FTPS require the additional usage of SSL/TLS layer along with the standard FTP protocol in order to encrypt the control channels which it uses for the data transfer. FTPS also facilitates transfer of files in between servers.
