Backup is a facility used in servers or PC’s to prevent the loss of information. This facility is extremely useful for those, who work with huge amounts of data like the enterprise level. Various tools like Rsync, Fwbackups, Bacula, Backupninja, Amanda and Duplicity are used in Linux systems for the purpose of taking data backups. The most common types of backup include one-time backups, scheduled backups, remote backups and local backups.
