mod_ssl

mod_ssl is an optional module for HTTP server. mod_ssl offers strong cryptography options for Apache Web server. It uses SSL and TLS protocols for the same. It is written with ANSI C. It has an advanced pass-phrase handling for private keys. After US export restrictions on cryptographic software were loosened, mod_ssl became part of the Apache HTTP Server with the release of Apache httpd 2.
