NS record

NS record, expanded as Name Server record is used for assigning a subdomain to a set of name servers. NS record indicates which name servers are authoritative for the zone / domain. The nameservers delegated by the NS record looks at the NS records to work out who to ask next when resolving a name. A user can add additional NS records to a domain if additional name servers are needed.
