Proxy server

Proxy server is usually a part of the firefall. Sometimes, it can also be used along with a firefall for the protection of system resources against external attacks. It controls the internet traffic of the system, by acting as an intermediate between the internet and local network. An important feature of proxy server is that it handles the local client requests related to web services. One of the high-performance servers used in Linux is the squid proxy server, which stores data from the files and web pages that are frequently used in the system.
