smb-conf (Samba configuration)

Samba configuration is done by making all modifications to Samba in the /etc/samba/smb.conf configuration file placed in the /usr/local/samba/lib directory. The ASCII configuration file for Samba, smb.conf fires up the Samba daemons, smbd and nmbd, and checks whether everything is running as it should be or not; if this file doesn't exist smbd will fail to start. smb.conf contains the runtime configuration details for the Samba programs required by the smbd server.
