SMTP

SMTP stands for ‘Simple Mail Transfer Protocol’, which sends and receives emails. It is responsible for the transfer of emails between mail servers. Configuration of an SMTP server can be done on the local machine for handling the delivery of mails. A special feature of SMTP is that it does not need authentication. Any user can be able to send and receive data with the help of this protocol.
