A software used to speed up a server, particularly at the time of high traffic. Varnish is an HTTP accelerator designed for dealing with content heavy dynamic web sites. It is a reverse proxy and it is easy to install. It is focused on HTTP mainly rather than other proxy server that support FTP, SMTP and other network protocols. Varnish is widely used in Wikipedia, Facebook, Twitter, Vimeo and Tumblr.
