It also consolidates the hardware and software resources of the Linux operating system. It permits the sharing of resources among various virtual machines and their respective processes. It is highly used for the purposes of performance testing and security. The most commonly used virtualization solutions are KVM, Xen, Virtualbox, QEMU and VMware.
