diff

When two text files are compared by running the diff command, it makes a complete analysis on them and displays the lines which are different from each other. It doesn’t stop with that as it also displays a set of instructions for the user on how to make changes on the file so that both are identical to each other.It is to be noted that the diff command doesn’t make any changes to the file but generates a script when the command is used with –e option. The script is in alpha numeric format.
