dir command

dir command is used along with other arguments to view the hidden file contents, to view the directories instead of content, to list files along with their allocated size in blocks, to display user and group ids instead of names. The dir command is not a commonly used command in Linux. Though it works more less like the ls command which most Linux users prefer to use.
