ifconfig command

The abbreviation for ifconfig command is ‘interface configuration’, which is used in Linux operating systems for the initialization of network interface and for enabling or disabling those interfaces. It displays all the active interface configurations, while using it. This command is also used for setting IP, broadcast address and subnet mask.
