ip command

ip command is used to assign an address to a network interface. The mentioned command also configures the network interface parameters on the Linux distro. This command is similar to the if command, which is considered as perfect replacement. Major purpose of the specified command is to display and manipulate the static routing, devices, policy routing and tunnels. The ip command allows the user to perform several network administration tasks in a single command.
