Soft Link

Soft Link can be created across, files, folders or partitions. Whenever a softlink is created, an inode for that link is generated.The syntax for softlink is: ln –s [target] [source]Here, Target is the original file and Source is the softlink.Softlink - softlink is like a shortcut for the original file, so it redirects to the original file every time when it's called. Softlink does not point to inode of original files. If the original file is removed then the softlink cease to exist.
