sort

sort command is used to print the lines of a file in a sorted order.Sort command uses blank space as field separator and the entire input files as sort Keys. This command just displays the output in sort order and does not sort the file or its content.The various options used in sort are –b, -d, -f, -g,-I, -M, -h, -n, -R, -r etc. The sorting order priority is as follows: Lines starting with numbers, then the alphabetical order, Lower case letters and then upper case letters.
