Touch Command

Touch command is used in Linux and other UNIX like Operating System for updating the access date.The usage of touch command is more than updating the access date as it is also used for the modification of a file or directory.  The usage of the touch command reduces the time spent opening a file, saving it and closing it again as it simply updates the date associated with that.
