Red5 is an open source flash server written in Java used for live streaming Video (FLV, F4V, MP4, 3GP), Audio (MP3, F4A, M4A, AAC), and Recording Client Streams (FLV and AVC+AAC in FLV container). Red5 is used for scalable live streaming and cross-platform second screen applications. Red5 offers features like simple plugin architecture, live streaming beyond Flash including HLS, WebSockets, and RTSP, support for WebRTC to enable streaming in the browser without a plugin.Support for Android and iOS, high scalability clustering, Shared Objects, Live Stream Publishing, Remoting, support for RTMP, RTMPT, RTMPS, and RTMPE Protocols, WebSocket (ws and wss), RTSP (From Axis-type cameras), HLS, HTML5, Adaptive Stream Rebuffering, Advanced Notifications API, Messaging and RPC, Two Way Video Chat, and integration with multiple platforms/CMS sites.To install red5, X86-compatible CPU, 1 GB Available Memory, 100MB or 1GB Ethernet card, 200 MB of available disk space (SATA II), and Root access to the machine is required.
